About After Six Posters

The Long Winded, AI Version

Dan Szurgot, a proud Army veteran and Murray State graduate, has turned his passion for creativity into an engaging hobby: creating sports posters. Under the banner of After Six Posters, this endeavor is not really a commercial business pursuit but a heartfelt labor of love. His posters reflect not just his artistic talent but also his deep appreciation for sports. Alongside him in this artistic journey is his wife, Tracy, who has been his steadfast partner for over 30 years, and their beautiful daughter, Allison. Together, they bring a sense of family and unity to Dan's creative process, transforming simple ideas into vibrant posters that celebrate the thrill of sports.

As an Associated Press award-winning news photographer, including Kentucky News Photographer of the Year, Dan has covered area news and worked as a commercial producer at WPSD Local 6 in Paducah for over 30 years. His work has graced countless homes, even though most people didn’t realize it. Dan’s impressive career includes encounters with presidents, sports figures, and a wide range of events—both good and bad.

Now, after leaving Channel Six, he channels his passion into designing sports posters to stay active. The name After six posters pays homage to his past profession... It is what he is doing after channel six. He borrowed the suggestion for the name from a friend and fellow News photographer, Mike Spissinger.

Despite now being disabled due to extreme hearing loss, and a couple other medical issues Dan has slowed but remains dedicated to his craft. Creating a variety of Themes for each sports poster, he aims to make them cool for kids while keeping costs reasonable for parents. If you have a specific sport in mind or an idea to explore, Dan is up for the challenge of getting that poster on your wall.

You won’t regret buying one of Dan’s sports posters. They are by far the best pictures we get every season. Not only are they great for display but my boys get so excited to have a large poster of themselves to show off. It is so much better than just a regular photo print or buying a package that only gives you a few smaller pictures and for the price it’s well worth it. These will last long after the kids are done with sports and it will be a cool way to remember their time on the field.
